Regardless of where people have worked, they bring their lived experiences and their relationship patterns to their roles and positions. Those patterns are either subconscious or somewhat conscious as they may or may not be self aware. When we surround ourselves with people who are “leading us” or “modeling for us” or “directing us” we want those relationships to be healthy.

Unfortunately, by putting the problem on the students we are causing more trauma. We are making “something wrong with them” and trying to fix it. But I don’t think it is working. Because the families and the teachers are not addressing the root cause and children are stressed, suicide rates are up, and teachers are leaving the profession.
