Alignment and Value Coaching for Educators

I recently posted this infographic on Facebook and had quite a bit of activity.

This language speaks from a place of misalignment.

When we have a problem, we are out of alignment with our circumstances.

Just imagine if you showed up for School each day in alignment. Not depending on others to tell you how to do things, but with your own internal compass. You can be the change you want to see. It means you have to get into alignment with your values.

More on Values and Coaching here.

So rather than waiting for the system to change, what f you change? What if you come to work each day and say “yes” and plan things that resonate with your values and say “no” to things and don’t plan things that do not resonate.

Here are some questions to reflect on:

  1. What does your practice as a consent based teacher look like?

  2. What does your teaching practice look like when it is child honoring?

  3. What does your teaching practice look like when it is Trauma Informed

  4. What does your teaching practice look like when it is developmentally appropriate?

  5. What does your teaching practice look like when it is anti-oppressive?

  6. What does your teaching practice look like when it is liberating?

  7. What does your teaching practice look like when you value yourself enough to only accept financial reimbursement that is in alignment with the value of your services?

  8. What are your services worth?

You can be the change you want to see in education. It’s uncomfortable to take responsibility for your future. Teachers have relied on the system for many years and now it is time to be the system, create the system you want!

It is time to reflect and align! There are many teachers who want to be this change. They deserve support in a coaching model so they can see their blind spots and share their truth with a trusted partner and with the world. Watch out world, here they come!

“The world is changing one teacher at a time.”
